A Christmas Wedding Celebration to top them all...

I was approached by Fiona and Danny is summer 2021 after their dear friends Kirsty and Luke had recommended me as I had captured their special day in June 2021. It is such a buzz when couples recommend me and even better for me means usually the couples are a similar vibe and I already know it will be a winning wedding!

Fiona and Danny lived up to my expectations and some more! Fun loving, down to earth, chilled, open to ideas and up for a giggle! Just my cup of tea. Both being from the UK and having spent many years living in Australia they were planning on heading back to the UK to throw a magical Christmas wedding with all their nearest and dearest.

Months of Instagram messages and zoom calls made me feel like such a part of this pairs day from the word go and their attitude to everything was refreshing. We finally got to meet face to face for the first time a few weeks before the wedding when I took them to the Christmas tree field for some engagement photos. These guys were just natural in front of the camera and the loved filled moments in amongst the Christmas field of dreams were epic!

The big day finally arrived a few days before Christmas and I turned up to Rackleys Barn, Buckinghamshire on a crisp clear December day.

The girls were buzzing as they got ready in the prep room and Sarah and Jo from Ever After Events were busy beautifying the barn with gorgeous florals and decor to make it a unique day. The huge ceiling to floor fairy lights in the barn already provide a dramatic backdrop and the huge Christmas tree gave me all the Christmas vibes!

The moment soon arrived for Fiona to take to the aisle and walk towards her groom. Sam SD celebrant held a wonderfully personalised ceremony for this pair that had real meaning, and was a joy to watch and also laugh along with!

The ceremony finished with a snow storm of snowy confetti before the couple snuck off for one of their favourite past times….PIZZA! Yep this pair ordered in Dominoes pizza that they could go and enjoy as husband and wife (they even ordered a pizza for me which is absolutely first class catering in my eyes!!)

Once the pizza slices were washed down with Fizz we went for a stroll around the Rackleys grounds to capture some couples portraits making the most of the beautiful old barn and farmhouse backdrops.

The venue laid up one long top table inside the bath which was adorned with all the Christmas decor and looked so enchanting. Heart warming and humorous speeches were shared before a surprise rhyming speech from a number of family and friends!!

However the biggest and best surprise was yet to come! In the form of Aston from Singing Surprise who arrived into the venue suddenly singing The Greatest Showman. Honestly it was the best thing I have seen at a wedding! Such a memorable performance and got everyone up dancing and kick started the party!

As it was the shortest day of the year the light drew in super early so we set up some lights to go create night time portraits outside the barn, complete with spraying champagne, blowing bubbles and smoking cigars for some playful shots.

We left this fabulous squad to party the night away but not before snapping them necking team shots at the bar!

I cannot thanks Fiona and Danny enough for picking me to capture their special day. A true joy to work with from day 1, I adored the collaborative approach and you really made me feel like such a welcome part of the day. Can we do it all over again?!
