The Biggest Tipi Wedding...
The beautiful bride Hayley first contacted me back in October 2019, she explained ‘our wedding probably isn’t a traditional wedding’….so I was already pretty sold. I love seeing couples put their own spin on their special day and create personal touches. Well Hayley and Chris's day was full of personal touches which Hadsham Farm lends itself to perfectly. This blank canvas venue nestled in the Oxfordshire countyside, with it's own Lake, Tipi's and yurt's is right ready for any couple to swoop in and make their mark, throwing a wedding that is personal to them.
This August wedding provided us with a true summers day, the sun did not stop beaming throughout, which to be fair after over a years delay this couple deserved! Halcyon Days had styled the venue to perfection with rustic wooden signs, barrels, kids games, giving a relaxed super cool vibe. The florals had been supplied by Brown Flowers whose home grown English countryside blooms fitted the theme perfectly and adorned the Tipi beautifully. Friends and Family of the couple helped decorate and arrange the flowers in milk churns and an array of vases and gin bottles. Also adorning the tipi was a big rustic stand full of favours which comprised of handmade biscuits (made by the Grooms best friend Paul and his wife Amy finished with a personalised stamp from Arlos Magic) and then shots for everyone created by the Bride....they knew how to get their party started! The real show stoppers though were two huge ceiling mounted hoops which were laced full of flower by Marion Rowe and Pat Butler and really made the Tipis looks so special. Hayley had found this talented duo from Middleton Cheney and they also created her bouquet…the benefit of this bouquet is it will last forever!
The Groom Chris and his Best Man spent the morning perfecting the venue and greeting the large wedding party who were all armed with booze ready for a proper celebration! The boys wore suits from Peter Posh with the finishing touch of awesome Bow ties by The Tie Garden. It was lovely to see Hayley and Chris’s boys also don matching dicky bows paired with converse. The guys also donned lovely dried flower button holes by Little Garden Flowers, which in the heat of the day were a great shout!
Hayley was walked down the aisle by her uncle dressed in a boho themed gown by Ellis Bridals, the cape style detail on the back was a personal favourite for me and the intricate beading glittered beautifully in the sunshine. The bridal party made up of Hayley’s closest gal pals donned Oasis dresses in a coral pink. All of the girls had been beautifully made up by Samantha Robinson with their hair finished by Sarah De Freitas.
The ceremony basked in sunshine where the couple stood under a beautiful floral arch supplied by Hadsham Farm which Hayley decorated with flowers from MayThorne Creations. Their vows were overseen by Celebrant Aaron Williams, who delivered a lovely ceremony personal to the couple. The couple’s youngest little poppet wanted in on the action and stayed by mummy’s side as the couple exchanged vows, which made for some giggles and highlighted the real family values that were at the heart of their big day. Luckily Mummy and Daddy got their big moment alone for the confetti throw which was superbly executed with the use of Dollz Flutterfall Confetti which swarmed around the couple and made the best confetti shot!
Hayley and Chris really had catered for the children, with lots to keep them entertained from a bouncy castle by Castle Queen, to hook a duck and traditional garden games as well as their Celebrant Aaron who also doubled up a wonderful kids entertainer later on in the day! The kids beaming faces and laughter were testament for how brilliant he was!
Before the guests tucked into a hog roast by Nikki Steele, I pinched the Bride and Groom for some family portraits with the boys and then some loved up couples shots. We hid under the shade of one of Hadsham's huge trees, then strolled round the lake for them to enjoy 15 minutes to themselves, getting to revel in the fact their big day was finally happening! One final job before I was finished for the day was to use the coloured smoke bombs the couple had purchased from Ginger Ray....I left these til last on purpose as these things can be somewhat unpredictable! We managed to get some bridal party shots with the coloured smoke wafting and only a small mark on Chris's shirt! oooops!
The chilled festival style vibe of Hayley and Chris's big day was the perfect setting for them to party and celebrate properly on the gorgeously sunny August Day. I wish you both a lifetime of happiness and love and making memories with your gorgeous boys!
