A winter wedding with fabulous shoes...

I first met Meg and Tom during a Crockwell Farm Taster evening at the end of 2019 (before the world went crazy) where many of Crockwell's couples were enjoying a taster session of some of Ross and Ross's gorgeous wedding food! What struck me straight away about Meg was how warm, friendly and chatty she was and I knew we were going to get on like a house on fire!

We headed to Everdon Stubbs Woods a few months later to capture some engagement shots (the week before the 2020 lockdown hit!). Little did we know that 2020 wasn't to be their wedding year in the end...but boy was it worth waiting for December 2021 to finally celebrate!

We were gifted a beautiful winters day with bright sunshine and luckily it wasn't too cold! The kind couple handed a huge box of Roses over as soon as I arrived which was the best kind of fuel for a day of taking pretty pictures!

Simmone from House of Hair and Samantha of SC Makeup were already busy making the bridal party look a million dollars as I got to capture some beautiful wedding details including the floral Ted Baker wedding shoes which matched Meg's Fuscia Pinks bridal bouquet to perfection.

I had Anna second shooting with me for the day so as she captured guests arriving I joined Meg, her Mum and Sister to don the Gabriella Bridal Wedding dress. The beautiful lace sleeves were a perfect addition for a winter wedding and Meg looked amazing. This was confirmed by the reaction from her dad and Bridesmaids as they climbed the stairs at Crockwell Farms Bridal suite to see Meg stood looking a million dollars.

Next up was the main event and seeing Meg's beaming face as her Father walked her down the aisle was a real highlight. The winter light poured through the ceremony windows lighting the pair of them up beautifully. The ceremony was all smiles peppered with plenty of cuddles with their little girl who wanted in on the action (and rightly so!) The ceremony was sewn up with a confetti throw down the Crockwell Farm steps....I always love this age old tradition of throwing confetti at the couple....just remember always buy twice as much confetti as you think you need....a proper confetti storm makes for epic photos!

The lovely chilled vibe from the wedding party continued on throughout the day as they enjoyed listening to Jo Church and his guitar throughout the reception. The weather was super kind while we captured the family shots and then onto a stroll with the couple around Crockwell and the Northamptonshire Countryside. As the sun began to set Meg and Tom got to grab 20 minutes to themselves to finally say 'WE DID IT!'

The couple were announced into the beautiful flower and candle adorned reception room, where speeches kicked off and raised plenty of smiles as some great stories about the bride were told by her Father!

As the day turned to night I dragged Anna out as my test model to set up my off camera flash in prep for some night time portraits! Before the wedding party had one too many drinks we captured a wedding day sparkler shot at the front of Crockwell as the couple walked through their guests and their glittering wands of light! It may have been chilly but I am always game for a sparkler shot, they really are magic!

As the Northamptonshire skies grew cloudy and rain started to fall my excitement levels peaked....yes I can hear you asking why would I be excited at rain? Because rain on your wedding day especially at night time makes for EPIC images! Embrace the rain and get yourselves outside! I set everything up and asked Meg and Tom if they fancied it.....

Tom didn't even have a chance to respond... Meg was dragging him out saying this was the shot she wanted! Positioned in front on the Crockwell atrium embracing an umbrella and each other we worked some night time portrait magic capturing this loved up duo. I decided to push my luck and also got them to pose in front of Crockwell's Glass House (Hermione from Crockwell is an avid and brilliant gardener and this glass house houses many a fledgingling plant, as well as making a pretty cool back drop to light up with flash!)

We headed back indoors for the couple to cut the cake beautifully crafted by Homemade by Victoria. This cake really made a statement with its very own gorgeous floral arch and personalised cake topper. My day wrapped up on the dancefloor as Whiteroom played out some epic tunes to get the party started.

Meg and Tom I can't thank you enough for choosing me to be part of your big day. You have been a pleasure to work with and made me feel so welcome. I look forward to capturing you and your family again soon!
