A family affair on a piping hot August day....

Back in August I had the pleasure of capturing one such super child friendly wedding for the wonderful Will and Rachel who had the kids rightfully front and Centre at their special day!

It was a joyous occasion when this couple finally reached their big day, after their wedding had been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The bride got ready at her home in Northampton, surrounded by her family and bridal party. She wore her great-nana's pearls, which had been gifted to her on her 21st birthday, and her hair and makeup were done by a talented family friend.

The groom-to-be Will prepared next door meaning I could jump between the two houses and capture both of them before they walked the aisle. Their daughter donned a classic bridesmaid dress perfect for twirling in and their son had an extra special job as ring security for the ceremony.

The ceremony was held at The Barns at Hunsbury Hill, a little hidden gem of a rustic venue very close to Northampton town Centre. As guests arrived and milled around the bar, sipping drinks to stay cool on this boiling hot August day, the bride made her way to the venue in a stunning vintage car provided by Yesteryear Cars. Various friends and family members were put in charge of video cameras for the day which would later be made into a montage of the special day by

Rachel was then walked down the aisle by both her parents. Their son Charlie presented the rings for the all important ring exchange and some of the nearest and dearest conducted the wedding readings. The wedding party headed outside into the blazing sun to toss the confetti over the happy couple who despite the covid delays had finally tied the knot!

I stole the whole family for some family shots before finding some hidden away spots at the venue for couples portraits. The children and also various adults throughly enjoyed the vast array of games and toys which had been laid out for all the enjoy. They really had made this a child friendly wedding for them to all enjoy! With the best part being an ice cream van pulling up after dinner to feed everyone! Not just any ice cream van but they very one who serves the family outside their own house throughout the summer!

As evening descended, more guests joined in on the celebrations bringing an extra buzz of energy to the venue. The boys got stuck into a game of football while the ladies took part in a bouquet toss; which was conducted a number of times to keep Belle their daughter entertained! Then it was time for the all important first dance which was made all the better by the couple having some epic confetti canons rain down on them!

As the night drew to a close, the family took some final photos together as the sun set. We definitely won't forget the random bee man who appeared mid photos with his wheelbarrow as he tended to his Bees....he even offered us all a taste of the honey which had us all in stitches of laughter!!

Thank you guys for trusting me to capture such a special occasion especially after you had to wait so long! I hope to see you all again in the future for more family photos!
